Welcome to the grade 4 classroom. My name is Carrie Davies and I will be your child/guardian’s teacher this year.
 
As an overview the classroom, I teach using an integrated cross-curricular hands-on and inquiry-based approach to learning which simply means I strive to demonstrate that all subject areas are interrelated and work together as a system.
 
I have been teaching at A.G. Hodge for over 16 years and I am very passionate about my role in guiding students to become lifelong learners and to be the best they can be.
 
I believe that education is aided when a strong partnership between students, teachers, and parents is established and maintained.  I will communicate with you primarily through your child/guardian’s agenda which I will check at least once a week. Students will be expected to record events and deadlines in their agenda on a daily basis. I also encourage you to communicate with me as I love to hear about interesting events and activities happening in your child/guardian’s life outside school ie. hockey games, dance competitions, recitals, special events, weekend trips etc.
 
I encourage you to visit the class website regularly as it will provide timely information on our studies as well as events in the class/school. There are a number of links to helpful sites to assist you when working with your child/guardian.
