Data Management
As a class, we decided to create a Pictograph to represent the number of items collected over the 3 week period. The first week we collected 26 items which included soups, canned vegetables, salad dressings, mayonnaise, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, and other related non-perishable items.
Thanks to Jonathan, Brooklynn, and Knolyn for starting to build our structure using the non-perishable items as their building materials....
Where's the Math ....
For math, we graphed the results the following way:
One Campbells soup can is used as the image and each can equals 10 non-perishable items... this week we have 2 full cans and 6 / 10 on a third can.
as a fraction this is written as 10 /10 + 10 /10 + 6 /10 = 26 /10
26/10 = 2 6 /10
26/10 is an improper fraction and 2 6/10 is a mixed fraction...
